In Defining and Measuring, Economics, Geopolitical Economy, Mental Objects

A short explanation of the GERG Data Project, written for IIPPE and posted on their blog. The purpose of the project is ‘to create a user-friendly database of world and country economic, political and social indicators, drawn from a variety of sources, and create a community of users who will add to the data, and work to improve it.’ This is the source of the data used for the GERG working papers on the [long decline of the North] and the [Persistence of International Inequality], as well as a growing volume of other work from 2019 onwards.

For more detail see the Github project at https://github.com/axfreeman/MacroEconomic-History-Server-Builder. Note that the links have changed from those in the version of this document to be found on the IIPPE site.
