This article was a commentary, in effect a continuation of our commentary on the slow train-crash of the Brexit debacle, deals with Theresa May’s failed attempt to consolidate a Conservative majority in the snap election of 2017, itself a consequence of Cameron’s own gamble on a Brexit referendum, and the period of Corbyn’s Labour Party leadership.
