This slideshow, presented to an online seminar organisd by NorthWest University in China, is a precursor to my forthcoming book to be entitled ‘Market-Free Economics: a General theory of Value, Money, and the State’. It is the first place in which I drew the conclusion, from 30 years of attempts to reform economics, that this is an impossible task and that the institution of economics should be dissolved and replaced by equipping the general public with a sufficient critical understanding of how markets work to allow them to take control over the economic decisions of policy-makers
